The Brooklyn, New York-based Pastor Hezekiah Walker was the leader of the Love Fellowship Tabernacle Church Choir, one of the most popular choral groups in contemporary gospel. Debuting in 1990 with Crusade Choir, Walker and his singers quickly became one of the star attractions on the church circuit, earning their greatest success to date when 1994's Live in Atlanta at Morehouse College scored a Grammy award.
A religious calling turned John P. Kee from a seedy lifestyle to a career as a top-ranked gospel performer, producer, and pastor. In his twenties, Kee devoted himself to gospel music and formed the group New Life Community Choir. In the late '90s, Kee added a full-time ministry to his list of accomplishments, balancing work in the New Life Community Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his music career.
Billboard-charting gospel icon Vickie Winans sang her first solo in church at the age of 8. Growing up in Detroit, Michigan, she honed her skills and belted out songs stunning audiences time and time again. Decades later, Winans' many accolades include 6 Grammy Award nominations; 8 Stellar Awards, and an NAACP Image Award. She's released 10 projects, with 2003's Bringing It All Together debuting at #1 on Billboard's Gospel Chart.
At an early age, Myron Butler developed an appreciation for music and, at 17, his first song, "Lift Him Up", was recorded by Dallas' DFW Mass Choir. God's Property welcomed Myron as their main choral director, and the group offered backup vocals for Kirk Franklin and the Family on occasional dates in and around Dallas. Levi is the four time Stellar Award reincarnate of the gospel choir, God's Property, of the 1997 Kirk Franklin hit "Stomp."
Protegé of famed producer Donald Lawrence, DeWayne Woods' vocals have graced recordings by Celine Dion, jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum, Atlantic Starr and John P. Kee.
New Jersey-based gospel singer, songwriter, choir director, and multi-instrumentalist Tye Tribbett formed the ensemble Tye Tribbett & Greater Anointing, or G.A., in the late '90s. The group was asked to back country superstar Faith Hill on her tour in 2000, resulting in a flurry of appearances and recording work with everyone from Will Smith, Usher, and Mary Mary to Don Henley, Justin Timberlake, and Sting.
Filling an obvious void in today's marketplace, Anthony Hamilton's pure, unadulterated emotion-filled vocals mixed with a no-holds-barred approach to truth-telling appeals to music buyers worldwide. He will be performing alongside his wife, singer Tarsha McMillian Hamilton.
